Meet Our Instructor
After 25 years working as a medical transcriptionist, Shonna Bender returned to school to study massage therapy. She had seen firsthand the benefits of massage in the reports she was typing. With an extensive background in anatomy and physiology as well as an understanding of disease pathology, she quickly developed a passion for the profession. She approaches massage from a medical prospective and enjoys the challenge of choosing the best modalities to help people feel better. She also observed the benefits of massage for her aging golden retrievers and an off-the-racetrack thoroughbred she had the pleasure of sharing my life with and decided to study animal massage as well.
