Intake Counselor ~ One Full-Time Position Available
Responsibilities include: Facilitate the Intake process for all Owner Surrenders, Strays, Wildlife and Transfers; Drive company vehicle to retrieve sick or injured animals within Pinellas County; Assist in the transport of animals from approved Placement Partners; Collect detailed behavioral and background information from customers relinquishing animals; Assist Veterinary Services with animal processing; Ability to deliver high-quality customer service to customers, staff and volunteers; handle stressful situations with confidence and calm; safely and compassionately handle all types of domestic animals and wildlife; receptionist duties; accurately use our animal software, PetPoint, to complete transactions.
Position Requirements: At least 2 years experience working in an open admissions shelter environment, veterinary office and/or other animal welfare organizations. 5 years driving experience along with a clean driving record. A working knowledge of the needs of different species/breeds of animals, including appropriate animal handling. Weekends and evening hours are required. Must be a Pinellas County Resident. Adoption Counselor ~ One Full-Time Position Available
Responsibilities include: Retail sales experience, delivering high-quality customer service to customers, volunteers, and colleagues. Safely and compassionately handle animals, tech-savvy ability to learn PetPoint software system and other office management systems . Attention to Detail a must.
Position Requirements: The right person is a team player and happy to work in a face-paced, constantly changing environment. This person will possess 1-3 years experience working in a retail environment. Weekends and evening hours required. Apply to: ADurden@SPCATampaBay.org
Medical Assistant ~ One Full-Time Position Available
Responsibilities Include: Work closely with medical staff to ensure all animals receive proper care and are handled in a respectful caring manner. Perform daily tasks such as giving medicated baths, feeding, administering medications, and vaccinating animals upon arrival. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Help properly restrain animals during exams/diagnostics and during euthanasia procedures. Clean and disinfect medical facilities. Experienced assistants may be asked to perform diagnostics such as ear cytology’s, microchip animals, monitor animals before, during, and after surgery.
